Job summary

StoneSafe Talent in Southampton is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to own fleet compliance, drive performance improvements and lead a hands-on transport team. The role targets overseeing operations, vehicle maintenance, driver hours, and training to ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has transport management experience and strong regulatory knowledge, with an emphasis on proactive leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport management, supervision or fleet operations.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with excellent communication.
• CPC qualification desirable but not essential.
• Ambitious candidates progressing to management encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transport operations, fleet compliance and driver standards.
• Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, driver hours and training requirements.
• Investigate incidents and implement improvements.
• Work closely with operational teams to improve efficiency and performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve fleet utilisation.
