Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a hands-on General Operative to support the safe and efficient running of our site. You will operate mobile and static plant, carry out inspections, maintain equipment, and help keep the site clean and organised.

A reliability mindset, timekeeping and safety awareness are essential, with experience in similar industrial settings preferred. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and a collaborative, safety-focused team environment on site.

Qualifications

• Reliable and safety-conscious with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain high timekeeping and safety standards.
• Experience operating mobile or static plant is beneficial in construction/industrial environments.
• Willingness to engage in inspections and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating mobile plant and equipment.
• Operating static plant safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out SHE and quality inspections.
• Completing pre-start, operational and post-operation checks.
• Identifying and reporting plant defects or maintenance needs.
• Maintaining plant and equipment in good working order.
• Completing near-miss reports when required.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the site.
• Following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
• Welcoming visitors and ensuring sign-in compliance.
