Job summary

Pertemps in Abingdon is seeking a practical Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing team. You will participate in preparation, assembly and finishing of moulded components, and help maintain high quality while meeting production deadlines.

The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing, ability to use hand and power tools, strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills. You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or workshop environment.
• 2+ years of relevant experience or an Engineering BTEC with 1–2 years in a similar setting.
• Confident using conventional hand tools and workshop power tools.
• Hands-on, practical approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble and finish moulded components to production requirements and quality standards.
• Assist with preparation and bonding of moulded components.
• Carry out cutting, grinding and flow coating as part of manufacturing.
• Support manufacture of sub-assemblies and assist across production areas.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect finished components for quality and accuracy.
• Follow production schedules and instructions from Team Leader to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and quality guidelines.
• Assist in training new production team members when required.
• Undertake additional manufacturing duties as directed by management.
