Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a hands-on R&D Engineer in Slough to develop next-generation heat pump systems. The role includes designing, building, and testing hydraulic test rigs, as well as troubleshooting mechanical issues.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong practical skills in plumbing and hydraulic systems. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, delivering innovative product solutions.

The position offers a competitive contract day rate and a dynamic working atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in R&D or product development.
• Demonstrable knowledge of heat pumps and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to build and troubleshoot systems independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and commission hydraulic test rigs.
• Carry out assembly and plumbing of systems.
• Instrument rigs and run test campaigns.
