Job summary

Aldenham Estate in Elstree is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to own the accounting cycle and strengthen controls across a multi-entity estate portfolio. You’ll lead month-end, VAT, payroll and cash flow, while supporting system upgrades and process improvements.

You’ll work onsite with flexible arrangements, reporting to the Head of Finance, and collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate, audit-ready financial statements and robust controls.

Qualifications

• Technically strong, hands-on accountant owning the accounting cycle.
• Ensures balance sheets reconcile with robust controls.
• Experience in multi-entity environments and year-end work.
• Excellent Excel and proficiency with accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close across all entities with journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns, year-end schedules and audit files.
• Manage short-term cash-flow forecasting and banking controls.
• Oversee payroll administration and liaise with providers.
• Support replacement of Sage 50 and integration with Re-Leased.
• Document procedures and drive process improvements.
