Job summary

PA Consulting seeks an Applied Chemistry Consultant to join its Applied Sciences team. You will apply practical chemistry, experimental work and problem solving to complex client challenges across energy, manufacturing, consumer products, healthcare, defence and more.

This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed a PhD or has 2–5 years of industry experience, with the ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Holds a degree/MSc/PhD in a chemistry field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and problem solving.
• Experience with chemical analysis and characterisation.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and carry out laboratory experiments to investigate chemical systems, materials, products or processes.
• Analyse, interpret and communicate experimental data.
• Apply chemical principles to solve technical problems.
• Support development and assessment of new technologies and materials.
• Contribute to technical reports, proposals and client deliverables.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams across sectors.
• Identify sources of uncertainty and risk.
• Translate findings into practical recommendations.
