Northampton General Hospital is recruiting a Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse (adults) at Band 7. The post is permanent and part-time (22.5 hours/week) with a pro rata salary of £49,387–£56,515 per annum. The primary base will be at Kettering with potential to work across NGH and KGH.
The successful candidate will deliver expert nursing care to adults with haemoglobinopathy disorders, lead education, and work within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and service quality.

You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. The Northampton Specialist haemoglobinopathy team currently incorporates Northampton and Kettering, flexibility is required across the two main hospital sites.

Lead with Haemoglobinopathy training across NGH and KGH.

Manage a caseload of patients, as appropriate within the speciality, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care.
Delegate a caseload of patients to team.
Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across the whole spectrum of the service.
Demonstrate specialist knowledge, skills and innovative practice in the specialist area, ensuring the delivery of appropriate evidence-based care.
Support, assist and encourage the multi-disciplinary team in resolving complex patient problems, by the provision of new and innovative models of case management.
Promote the philosophy of patient centred care and establish and maintain a supportive relationship with the patient and their family at all times.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate systems are in place to evidence ongoing compliance with local and national policies as required for CQC standards.
Actively participate in audit and research and benchmarking activities to ensure effective safe and evidence based practice and lead for service.
