Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm, Friday 8:45am – 4:45pm

Salary: £24,325 – £27,391

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who has excellent customer care and communication skills. The role of Housing Assistant undertakes a wide range of clerical duties including word processing, filing and photocopying and has the added advantage of working within a busy locality housing office, supporting Housing Officers and providing advice to tenants and customers, making a direct impact to the local community and our service users.

Due to the post being in a front line service, the successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to the principals of customer care along with effective communication and interpersonal skills. Due to the nature of the post, it requires a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Support Housing Officers by providing clerical duties such as word processing, filing and photocopying.
  • Provide advice to tenants and customers within the housing office.
  • Organise and prioritise workload, respond to changing priorities and contribute effectively to team goals and projects.
  • Use relevant IT systems and software applications, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Level 1 disclosure check prior to formal offer of employment.
  • Overseas Criminal Records Check for applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years.
