My client are a regional civil engineering business. They are looking to onboard a health and safety manager to help oversee the delivery of a new contract in North Wales. My client operate across the transport, renewable, coastal and infrastructure sectors. H&S manager responsibilities:


Responsibilities


  • Ensure the project complies with all relevant health & safety legislation.

  • Maintain up-to‑date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry standards.

  • Prepare and manage site H&S documentation: Safety Plans, RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), permit-to-work systems.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards.

  • Review and approve contractor risk assessments and method statements.

  • Coordinate H&S training for workers (induction, toolbox talks, task‑specific competency).

  • Ensure subcontractors meet H&S requirements and enforce compliance.

  • Develop and maintain site emergency response plans.

  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety stand‑downs.

  • Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
    Right to work in the UK.


Qualifications


  • CSCS card.

  • NEBOSH ticket holder.

  • Previous experience in a H&S manager role (5 years plus).

  • IT literate.

  • Proficient in creating RAMS, site safety plans, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Understanding of relevant laws (OSHA, CDM, local regulations), risk management, and industry best practices.

  • Full UK driving licence.
