Wickford, Essex

£33,000 per annum

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm

We are partnering with a well‑established and respected company based in Wickford, seeking a proactive and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about creating safe working environments and driving a strong safety culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the business needs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend effective control measures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by collaborating with teams and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Deliver expert advice and training on health and safety matters, including PPE usage and safe working practices.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and analyse safety performance, producing reports to highlight trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with legislation and industry standards, ensuring policies remain compliant and relevant.
  • Build strong relationships with external regulatory bodies and clients, representing the company professionally.
  • Lead audits and inspections, identifying non‑compliance and recommending practical solutions.
  • Act as the main point of contact for health and safety communications, awareness campaigns, and training initiatives.
  • Travel off‑site to meet clients, contractors, and engineers during routine visits.
About You
  • Proven experience in health and safety within the industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for delivering clear briefings, training, and reports.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving ability to identify risks and develop solutions.
  • Highly proactive, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software for reporting and analysis.
  • Professional certifications such as IOSH membership or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
