Job summary

A health and safety advisory role at a chemicals manufacturing site in Greater Manchester is looking for a proactive HSE professional. You will support the development of management systems, conduct risk assessments and lead investigations, with exposure to process safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Solid H&S experience in a high-hazard process industry.
• Experience managing significant hazards, including DSEAR and COSHH.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with strong communication and engagement across site operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HSE management systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001).
• Conduct risk assessments including COSHH; support DSEAR and process safety activities.
• Lead and support incident investigations, audits and compliance monitoring.
• Coordinate HSE training, contractor safety, site inductions and emergency drills.
• Support environmental compliance, fire safety and regulatory requirements.

Health & Safety Advisor - Chemicals Manufacturing - Greater Manchester - £45-55k + benefits

We're working with an established chemicals manufacturer in teh search for a Health & Safety Advisor for their lower-tier COMAH environment.

Now under new ownership, the business is committed to increased investment and development, creating an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress into an HSE Manager role.

Working alongside an experienced HSE professional, you will gain broad exposure across HSE, process safety, environmental compliance and site operations, with the longer-term opportunity to help grow and develop the HSE team.

The Role

COMAH experience is not essential, but experience within process industries is key.
