Job summary

THG Ingenuity Ltd is seeking a dynamic Gym Instructor to join the Hale Country Club & Spa fitness team. You will support members throughout their fitness journey, deliver expert guidance, and create a motivating club experience.

In a premium health, fitness and wellness environment you will receive ongoing training and development, with opportunities to complete a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and progression within the club.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification (Level 3 Personal Trainer desirable).
• Experience as Gym Instructor/Personal Trainer in health clubs or gyms.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prescribe and deliver tailored exercise programmes.
• Passionate about health, fitness and member experience.
• Continued professional development in the fitness industry.
• Organised, adaptable and rota-based availability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support members through a 4-week member journey to build confidence and results.
• Motivate and coach members during gym sessions and activities.
• Deliver outstanding member experiences with ongoing support and guidance.
• Build relationships to grow class attendance and engagement.
• Deliver personalised Club Inductions for up to 4 members.
• Maintain a proactive gym floor presence and safe equipment use.
• Oversee daily gym floor operations, equipment checks, cleanliness, maintenance reporting, and safety compliance.
• Handle member enquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally.

The Role

We are looking for an energetic, passionate, and member-focused Gym Instructor to join the fitness team at Hale Country Club & Spa.

As a key part of our wellness offering, you will play an inspiring role in supporting members throughout their fitness journey, delivering exceptional service, expert guidance, and a motivating club experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support members through our structured 4-week member journey, helping them build confidence, consistency, and results
• Motivate, coach, and energise members during gym sessions and fitness activities
• Deliver outstanding member experiences by providing ongoing support, encouragement, and fitness expertise
• Build strong relationships with members and help grow and maintain class attendance to support engagement and retention
• Deliver personalised Club Inductions to groups of up to 4 members, ensuring a welcoming and informative onboarding experience
• Maintain a visible and proactive presence on the gym floor, offering guidance on exercise programmes and safe, effective equipment use
• Oversee daily Gym Floor Operations, including equipment checks, studio preparation, cleanliness standards, maintenance reporting, and health & safety compliance
• Professionally handle member enquiries, concerns, and feedback when required

About You

• Minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification (Level 3 Personal Trainer desirable)
• Previous experience as a Gym Instructor and/or Personal Trainer within a health club, gym, or fitness environment
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Confident in prescribing and delivering tailored exercise programmes to both new and existing members
• Passionate about health, fitness, and delivering exceptional member experiences
• Evidence of continued professional development within the fitness industry
• Organised, adaptable, and flexible with the ability to work a rota-based schedule
