Job summary

Blackstar Amplification Ltd is seeking a Product Developer to support guitar amplifiers, software and related products from concept through prototyping and production to testing and final product sign-off. It is ideal for a guitarist with hands-on experience in professional recording, live sound or equivalent audio engineering environment.

The successful candidate will work with electronics and mechanical design engineers, lead first-pass sound design, run pre-release tests and maintain

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in professional recording or live sound environments.
Strong ear for sound with ability to analyse and critique tones.
Understanding of guitar amplifiers, signal flow and recording equipment.
Experience using computer-based recording software and plugins.
Structured engineering approach with attention to detail and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

Apply critical listening and sound-design skills to product development.
Use rapid prototyping and studio tools to drive sound engineering during development.
Work with electronics and mechanical engineers to design and prototype new products.
Own the first-pass sound design of Blackstar products.
Devise and carry out pre-release test procedures for hardware and software.
Set up and manage product listening tests.
Maintain accurate records of the development process.
