Role

Lead technical strategy and Agile delivery for Guidewire PolicyCenter and Digital. Lead technical engineering initiatives within Guidewire Centre of Excellence and drive excellence across Digital and PolicyCenter platforms, with a strong focus on React and front-end digital services.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and influence engineering teams within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
  • Drive hands-on delivery as a floating subject matter expert across multiple Scrum teams.
  • Champion high standards in coding, architecture, quality, and performance.
  • Ensure solutions align with immediate delivery needs and long-term strategic goals; provide oversight and ensure consistency.
  • Contribute to scalable, sustainable delivery by ensuring Guidewire components are optimized for flexibility and reuse.

Hybrid/remote and office-based options available – Candidates UK wide can be considered. Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + 25% Annual Bonus Plus Excellent Benefits package.

Profile

As a hands-on, forward-thinking Technical Engineering Lead within the Guidewire Centre of Excellence, you\'ll drive excellence across Digital and PolicyCenter platforms. You\'ll shape best practices, mentor growing talent, and play a critical part in the evolving Guidewire ecosystem, with a strong focus on React and front-end digital services.

Responsibilities include taking a senior leadership role across digital-facing Guidewire platforms (including CustomerEngage and PolicyCenter) and ensuring alignment with delivery needs and long-term goals.

Essential skills and experience
  • Extensive development experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, CustomerEngage and Jutro framework.
  • Strong front-end development background including React, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong technical leadership in an Agile software development environment.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and articulate complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
  • Comfortable working across multiple Scrum teams as a technical mentor and quality gatekeeper.
  • Solid understanding of Guidewire principles and out-of-the-box functionality.
Desirable
  • Guidewire ACE certification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience with SaaS-based Guidewire deployments.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with Node.js.
