Chris Hayes Associates is recruiting an Investment Director to lead growth capital activity for a top-tier UK venture firm based in Birmingham. You’ll originate deals, evaluate investment cases, negotiate transactions, and oversee post‑investment performance with a hands-on leadership style.

Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in investing or corporate finance, plus a passion for scaling tech businesses. Excellent communication and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in Investing, Corporate Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Consulting, Tech, or Sciences.
• Growth Capital/Venture Capital/Private Equity experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
• Strong academic record.
• Commercially minded, curious, and excited by new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Originate deals and uncover the next big opportunities.
• Evaluate business plans and investment cases to achieve annual investment targets.
• Identification and assessment of suitable new investment opportunities.
• Undertaking business development and self-generating proposals, promoting the Fund.
• Negotiating deals and executing transactions with structured investment packages.
• Completion of financial, people and legal elements of transactions, including due diligence.
• Post investment monitoring and guidance on operational issues.
• Preparing reports and presentations to Investment Committee.
• Mentoring the team and developing less experienced colleagues.
