Audit & Risk Recruitment are partnering with a leading UK construction business to recruit a Group Senior Internal Auditor (Operational & Projects) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role reports to the Group Head of Assurance and offers exposure across the Group's operational activities.

You will perform risk-based audits focusing on operational, project and commercial areas, engage with stakeholders, and travel to live project sites across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, building, property services, infrastructure or major capital projects.
• Experience in operational, project and/or commercial Internal Audit or assurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide assurance over risks and controls across a large UK organisation.

Job description

Audit & Risk Recruitment are partnering with a leading UK construction business in their search for a Group Senior Internal Auditor (Operational & Projects). This position joins their established Group Internal Audit function on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Due to the nature of the position, they are looking for someone who is immediately available or able to start at short notice.

Reporting to the Group Head of Assurance, you will join an established and highly visible Internal Audit function, gaining exposure across the wider Group and its operational activities. The role will see you delivering a risk-based audit plan with a particular focus on operational, project and commercial audits, providing assurance over key risks and controls across a large and complex UK organisation.

The position offers you exposure across a variety of operational and project-based areas, including health & safety, subcontractor management, payment terms and financial controls. Alongside audit delivery, you will also have the opportunity to support wider initiatives within the function, including the implementation of a new GRC system and the continued development of the Group’s assurance approach.

The successful candidate must have previous audit experience within a construction, building, property services, infrastructure or major capital projects environment. You will ideally bring a background in operational, project and/or commercial Internal Audit or assurance, with experience engaging with stakeholders across both operational and corporate environments. The position offers flexible working, with offices based in London and Surrey, and a requirement to travel to live project sites across the UK.
