Job summary

BBF Limited in Hull is seeking a Group Project Engineer to coordinate technical and managerial activities across the group, delivering manufacturing projects to drive performance.

You will work with senior leadership to identify and prioritise projects, develop automation strategies, manage budgets, KPIs, risks and communications, ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

Experience of working in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
Prince 2 (or similar) Project Management qualification
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to stakeholders
Excellent organisational and planning skills to coordinate multiple activities and dependencies
Excellent problem solving and decision‑making skills
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to collaborate with and manage multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

Work with Senior Leadership and Site Teams to identify, select, and prioritise projects based on business strategy
Develop the 3-year automation strategy with Group Operations Director and local sites
Evaluate technical requirements, project scope, and estimated timelines
Ensure robust project planning, identifying activities, resources, responsibilities, constraints and risk management
Continually review and update project budgets
Coordinate and provide direction for project teams
Prioritise and communicate key deliverables to all contributors
Establish measurable objectives and KPIs for projects
Ensure project progress aligns with plan
Clarify responsibilities and dependencies for all contributors
Ensure understanding of deliverables across the team
Ensure projects meet safety requirements and quality standards
Communicate project progress to stakeholders
Identify and mitigate project risks
Coordinate responses to project issues

The role of Group Project Engineering Manager

Work with Senior Leadership and Site Teams to identify, select, and prioritise projects based on business strategy
Working with the Group Operations Director and local sites develop the 3-year automation strategy
Evaluate technical requirements, project scope, and estimated project timelines

Continually review and formally update project budgets as necessary
Coordinate and provide direction for project teams.
Clearly prioritise and communicate key project deliverables to all project contributors
Establish measurable objectives and suitable KPIs for all projects
Ensure project progress remains in line with planned progress
Clarify responsibilities and coordinate dependencies for all project contributors
Ensure a full understanding of project deliverables across the project team
Ensure projects meet the applicable safety requirements
Ensure projects meet the required technical specifications, quality expectations and organisational procedures
Ensure clear and timely communication of project progress to all project stakeholders
