Job summary

Sainsbury's Tech in London is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead product teams delivering integrated platforms and real-time data services. You will shape the vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog, owning customer and business value while guiding cross‑functional delivery with delivery, engineering and architecture partners.

Specifically focusing on this role:

As part of a Product team and workingin close collaboration with delivery, engineering andarchitectureyou’ll focus on providing consistent and efficient integration and technology platforms to our engineering community. This includes ownership directly or through direct reports for real-time event platforms, standardised common integration build capabilities, as well as API gateways and discoverability.

You’ll be part of a wider Integration Factory Product team embedded within our Tech Platforms pillar, with a reach across all of our Sainsbury’s Tech colleagues in all domains.

What you need to do

As aGroup ProductManager, you will:

  • Deliver value through products that make a fundamental difference to our strategy and ambitions through collaboration and adoption of frameworks that enshrine trust in our data
  • To lead other Product managers to ensure they deliver maximum value and alignment to the needs of our primary internal customers
  • Be accountable fordeveloping the vision, strategy,roadmap and backlog for your product, own the customer and business value, and make effective prioritisation choices to deliver maximum value and return on capital, ensuring we meet our corporate plan commitments.
  • Be comfortable discussing technical details sufficiently to understand our internal customers problem statements
  • Be expected to regularly working with teams from across domains to understand our key end-to-end data processes to prioritise where the greatest opportunities and needs exist
  • Champion our principles – ensuring the journey, destination and decisions we make regarding Integrations align to our north start strategy and remove constraints for federated engineering teams to deliver greater value at pace.
  • Monitor relevant industry trends keeping personal knowledge up to date with the latest developments and innovations pertinent to modern integrations and operational data flows. Build confidence as the subject matter expert for your product, helping to guide future investment.

  • A proventrack record of leading delivery ofcomplextechnology led change in cross-functional environments; you have shipped products at scale that customers and colleagueslove.
  • Experience with integration technologies or management of internal technology platforms
  • Strong communicationand influencing skills, particularly at senior levels
  • Judgement to make sometimes difficult and complex decisions at pace, including comfortable dealing with ambiguous situations and help drive toward clarity
  • Motivating and influencing transformational change
  • Creative problem solving, enthusiasm for delivering change through people and technology
  • A high levelof team contribution, seek opportunities to provide input and support across the team and outside core areas of focus, role model effective collaboration
