Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Group Operations Manager at our East Cowes site to lead and optimize day-to-day aerospace manufacturing operations. You will steer process improvements, resource planning, and staff development to drive performance and compliance.

As part of the Operations team, you will partner with senior leaders to align strategy, monitor KPIs, and report on progress. A strong background in lean continuous improvement and budget oversight is essential.

Qualifications

  • Significant previous experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong people-leadership skills with track record of leading teams.
  • Excellent adherence to standardised work and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
  • Ability to manage budgets and analyse financial data.
  • Self-motivated by meeting and exceeding performance targets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process and cost improvements.

Job description

Job Qualifications
  • Significant previous experience gained in a similar role within the aerospace (or similar) manufacturing industry
  • Strong people-leadership skills, with a track record of successfully leading, engaging, training and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent workplace performance, demonstrating rigorous adherence to standardised work, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of continuous improvement (Kaizen) implementation
  • Ability to manage budgets and analyse financial data
  • Self-motivated by meeting and exceeding performance targets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company desirable, although not essential
