Group Operations Director
Salary: c.£100,000 + leadership package
Location: Multi-site (3 UK sites)
Overview
An opportunity to join a growing, highly regulated manufacturing group as Group Operations Director, responsible for leading operations across three sites. This is a strategic and hands‑on leadership role with full accountability for production, quality, supply chain, and operational excellence in a GMP manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving site performance, ensuring compliance, and leading teams to deliver against commercial, safety, and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all three manufacturing sites.
- Ensure all sites operate in full compliance with GMP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Oversee production, packaging, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise output.
- Work closely with the Quality and Technical teams to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement consistent operational processes and KPIs across sites.
- Build, coach, and develop site leadership teams to create a high‑performance culture.
- Support NPI (new product introduction) and the scale‑up of production into finished packaging.
- Manage capital investment programmes and lead site upgrades or expansion projects where required.
- Contribute to strategic planning and business growth as part of the Group Leadership Team.
Experience & Background
- Proven track record in senior operational leadership within a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, packaging, food, FMCG or similar).
- Experience managing multi‑site operations.
- Strong understanding of packaging operations - ideally where products are filled, assembled, or packed into finished form.
- Excellent working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, quality systems, and audit processes.
- Demonstrated success leading teams through change, efficiency improvements, and scale‑up phases.
- Financially astute, with experience managing budgets, capex, and operational P&L.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
