A municipal authority in Scotland is seeking a Group Manager to oversee greenspace, biodiversity, and bereavement services. The role involves leading strategic initiatives, managing a professional team, and ensuring the successful delivery of key city strategies. An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Group Manager (Greenspace, Biodiversity and Bereavement) to join our Parks & Streetscene team on a permanent basis.

Position Details
The Group Manager (Greenspace, Biodiversity and Bereavement) will lead on the strategic and operational delivery of Glasgow’s Green Open Space Strategy and supplementary strategies these include the city’s Play, Allotment, Biodiversity, Woodlands and Pollinators strategies. The post holder will also oversee key centres of excellence such as Pollok Country Park and Glasgow Botanic Gardens.
The post holder will manage a team of professional and technical design staff together with operational staff. The post holder will provide support in the delivery of key national and local strategies which contribute to the City’s well-being both in terms physical and mental health.
The successful candidate must have a degree or equivalent qualification, in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture /Management and should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of developments and best practice in parks, allotments, biodiversity and greenspace through specialist training and practical experience.
You should have proven ability to lead and develop a team in the successful management and governance of contract awards and have excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with leadership level personnel, internal and external clients and partners.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 per week.
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday.
Annual Salary: £66,940.22 - £77,610.80 on an incremental scale
