Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Group Leader who operates within the Projects, Programme and Portfolio Management (P3M) Discipline Area. The SCM Group builds and optimises supply chains that enable clients to deliver critical programmes across Defence, Security, Energy, Infrastructure and Space. They develop supply‑chain strategies for large‑scale turnkey projects and work autonomously with senior stakeholders to improve governance, compliance and performance across global supplier ecosystems. The group focuses on creating and operating supply‑chain management frameworks at all levels, from strategic sourcing and category management through to supplier performance management and risk mitigation. They deliver best practice across the full procurement and contract lifecycle, providing expertise in commercial negotiation, regulatory compliance, assurance, and continuous improvement of supply‑chain processes, systems and tools. The team is dispersed throughout the UK, with a centre of gravity in the Bristol office and team members also based in Plymouth and Burton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practitioner in supply‑chain and procurement methodologies (e.g. CIPS or equivalent recognised qualifications/experience)
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of supply‑chain management processes, governance frameworks and digital tools
  • A working knowledge of procurement regulations PCR2015 and/or PA2023
  • Proven ability to develop supply‑chain solutions for customers and deliver programmes of work to client satisfaction, schedule and budget
  • Strong leadership, management and collaborative working skills, with experience of building and mentoring high‑performing teams
About you
  • Chartered (or equivalent) professional with a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Practitioner in supply‑chain and procurement methodologies (e.g. CIPS or equivalent recognised qualifications/experience)
