Group Leader - Immunoassay

Job summary

VRS-UK is seeking a senior leader to provide scientific, operational and strategic leadership for the ADA immunoassay bioanalysis function in the Cambridge area. The role involves mentoring a high-performing team, ensuring GLP/GCP compliance and delivering high-quality client projects.

You will manage budgets and KPIs, drive continuous improvement, and represent the department at client meetings, audits and industry events. This is an excellent opportunity to shape a growing international CRO.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in ADA, immunogenicity or immunoassay bioanalysis.
• Strong understanding of GLP, GCP and bioanalytical regulations.
• Proven leadership experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
• Experience managing teams, budgets and operational performance.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially aware with a passion for scientific excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GLP, GCP and regulatory requirements
• Manage departmental budgets, KPIs and profitability
• Oversee resource planning, capacity management and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure efficient and compliant project delivery, acting as Study Director, PI or Analytical Project Manager where required
• Maintain audit readiness and manage CAPAs
• Partner with Business Development to support new and existing client relationships
• Represent the department at client meetings, audits and industry events

About You

• Proven leadership experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
