Job description

The Group Financial Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations, ensuring robust financial health and supporting the organisation through its next phase of growth. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role requires an analytical and enquiring mindset, coupled with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Pivotal to the role will be proven experience in managing and developing teams, fostering a collaborative culture, and providing mentorship to colleagues. Integrity, sound judgement, and strong adherence to financial compliance and regulations will be essential, as will a positive, proactive approach to thriving in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and growth‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day to day operations of the Finance team.
  • Manage the AP function, ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed accurately and the supplier ledger is reconciled to supplier statements.
  • Check, reconcile and approve foreign payrolls with outsourced service provider.
  • Reconcile accounts for all jurisdictions, managing day to day tax and financial affairs for each operational country.
  • Prepare and oversee accurate consolidated management accounts, financial statements and reports for the group.
  • Prepare sales reporting comparing to budget and prior year and assist in sales forecasting.
  • Monitor bill of materials make‑up and product costings, analysing changes and variances.
  • Prepare gross margin reporting with full analysis.
  • Conduct in‑depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvements and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, overseeing audits and internal controls.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Understand and work with all relevant grant bodies to ensure grant financial claims are accurate and submitted within guidelines of the grant bodies.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within a similar role as finance manager or management accountant.
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
  • Proficient user of accounting software and Microsoft software.
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • A solid understanding of relevant accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Deep understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Project management coupled with organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan and use critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Additional
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing, engineering and/or electrical environment would be advantageous but not essential.
