Axon Moore are supporting a leading Private Equity backed business in West Yorkshire with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller.

The business is going through an exciting phase of growth and evolution. With a turnover of +£100m and double digit EBITDA projected in the coming years, there are a number of key strategic incentives underway, as well as ambitious plans to build on their impressive organic growth further via M&A.

A Group Financial Controller is required who can drive robust controls and lead the team through the next phase of growth. This will be a highly visible role, and they will reach far beyond finance, with exposure to commercial functions and C‑Suite/PE investors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all necessary accounting and financial controls for a number of business entities
  • Leading a large finance function, mentoring and developing the team and its individuals to the best of their potential
  • Implementing a robust financial controls framework, suggesting areas for improvement and ensuring the controls are befitting of a business of their scale (which is likely to increase in the coming years)
  • ct as a leading business partner, representing the finance function and championing the role of finance across all facets of the business
  • Overseeing all statutory reporting, year end audit, cash flow forecasting and internal controls procedures
  • Ensure Tax, VAT and all HMRC requirements are met and managed accordingly
  • Input into strategic processes such as M&A as and when business dictates
Qualifications
  • Qualified finance leader, with experience gained in a larger business ideally with multiple entities
  • Strong technical accounting and controls background, with progression into leadership roles in industry
  • Private Equity experience would be desirable
  • The key requirement is for this person to be able to make an impact, be proactive, lead people through a period of change, and demonstrate high calibre reporting, analysis and leadership

A degree of hybrid working can be an offer, however this is a visible leadership role and the successful person will be required to be on site for the majority of the time.
