Job summary

A leading technology manufacturer in Tees Valley is seeking a qualified accountant to lead a finance team and manage financial functions across the UK, USA, and China. Responsibilities include producing management accounts, driving forecasts, and enhancing business processes. Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Lead a finance team of five colleagues and day‑to‑day finance function.
  • Produce consolidated Group management accounts and legal entity accounts in the UK, USA and China.
  • Analyse sales and margin, and drive the monthly business re‑forecast.
  • Review monthly overhead cost and manage balance sheet control and working capital.
  • Calculate business case investment for commercial opportunities and engineering developments (NPV, ROI and payback).
  • Appraise projects in partnership with the Director of Programmes.
  • Manage treasury and cash‑flow forecasting; review Group payroll monthly.
  • Lead on‑site year‑end audit and statutory accounts preparation at subsidiary level; assist with Group statutory accounts under IFRS.
  • Support the CFO in annual business planning and tax compliance.
  • Improve Group controls and business processes, and optimise ERP (NetSuite) automation.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience partnering with CFO or Finance Director to drive performance.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering or technology sectors.
  • Experience translating data into clear decision‑making insights.
  • Exposure to supply chain or project‑based cost structures.
