Job summary

Alexander Daniels are partnering with a growing, multi-site business to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This senior role reports to the CEO and leads the finance function across multiple sites, delivering robust controls, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning.

You will drive month-end processes, group consolidation, audit coordination, cash flow forecasting, and support acquisitions and funding activities, while developing the finance team and influencing strategic decisions

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• Experience as Financial Controller/Head of Finance in multi-site environments.
• Strong technical skills in reporting, consolidation, controls and compliance.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to translate finances into business insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team across multiple sites.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, controls and reporting.
• Manage monthly management accounts, KPIs and commercial analyses.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, group consolidations and statutory reporting.
• Lead year-end audit and regulatory compliance.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and working capital processes.
• Support funding activities and lender relationships.
• Provide financial insight to support growth and acquisitions.
• Assist with integrating acquisitions into reporting and control frameworks.
• Drive improvements in systems, reporting, governance and risk management.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional to join an ambitious business and play a key role in supporting its continued growth and strategic objectives.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of the operational finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, strong governance, and effective financial planning across a complex multi-site operation.

This is a hands‑on leadership role offering significant exposure to strategic decision‑making, business growth initiatives, and acquisition activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, financial controls, and reporting processes.
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, KPIs, and commercial performance analysis.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, group consolidations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead the year‑end audit process and ensure ongoing regulatory and tax compliance.
• Develop and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts and working capital management processes.
• Support funding activities and maintain relationships with lenders and key financial stakeholders.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support business growth, investment decisions, and acquisitions.
• Assist with integrating newly acquired businesses into established financial reporting and control frameworks.
• Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting capabilities, governance, and risk management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• An experienced Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader within a multi‑site environment.
• Technically strong with expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, controls, and compliance.
• Commercially astute with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.
• Comfortable operating within a fast‑paced and evolving business environment.
• An effective leader capable of developing teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Previous experience within a regulated sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
