Overview

Group Financial Accountant – Leicester (hybrid working). Bellrock Group are looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant. Responsible for external reporting of the organisation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax legislation. Day to day lead on the external audit, VAT & Tax matters. This role is a key part of the finance team, supporting the team on technical accounting matters and leading on technical accounting areas such as acquisition accounting.

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for the preparation of group consolidated and individual companies' financial statements for audit, working with the management accounting team.
  • Responsible for ensuring all HMRC and foreign taxes are filed and paid on time. This includes but is not limited to; Corporation Tax, VAT, CIS, PSA, Social Security, Class 1A.
  • Key day to day contact for the external audit.
  • Accounting for senior debt and intercompany loans.
  • Ensuring accounting and tax legislation is followed and adhered to.
  • Implementing significant changes in accounting standards.
  • Internal expert for accounting and tax queries from the wider finance team, leaning on external support where required. This includes accounting advice for projects.
  • Assisting with the onboarding and integration of new acquisitions as required.
Skills & experience
  • The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified accountant, trained in Practice with a top 10 firm.
  • Technically strong, with experience of Group consolidations, acquisition accounting, tax and external audits.
  • Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Confident and comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Reliability - responsible and dependable. Take ownership of your work and the work of your team.
  • Independence - able to manage own workload with minimum supervision.
  • Team player - works as part of a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Attention to detail - job requires being accurate in interpreting and challenging data.
Working arrangements
