As the Group Finance Manager, you'll play a key role within the Finance team, supporting the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, statutory compliance, and corporate governance across Selfridges. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information, support key governance processes and contribute to informed decision-making.
This role is suited to a qualified finance professional with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex and fast-paced environment. You'll combine a strong attention to detail with a proactive approach and a desire to broaden your experience across financial reporting, treasury and corporate finance.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Reporting and Financial Statements
- Lead the preparation and timely delivery of Selfridges' annual statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Companies Act requirements and Group reporting policies.
- Prepare complex accounting calculations and disclosures, including lease accounting under IFRS 16 and related financial statement disclosures.
- Assist with the preparation and review of statutory accounts for holding and property companies.
- Draft technical accounting papers to support year-end accounting positions, including impairment assessments, CGU reviews and other significant judgements.
- Coordinate contributions from Legal, Tax, Sustainability, Insurance and other business functions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures.
- Maintain and manage detailed reporting timetables, ensuring all reporting milestones and deadlines are achieved.
External Audit Management
- Act as the primary finance contact for the annual external audit process for Selfridges.
- Coordinate audit requests across finance and wider business teams to ensure efficient delivery of audit evidence and responses.
- Manage the execution of the Selfridges Retail external audit, facilitating effective engagement between auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Support the resolution of audit findings and technical accounting queries.
External compliance
- Support the preparation and review of corporation tax computations and tax return submissions.
- Work closely with internal tax specialists and external advisers to ensure compliance with statutory tax requirements.
- Completion and co-ordination of returns to the Office of National Statistics
Provide support across the Senior Finance Manager's governance and shareholder reporting responsibilities, including:
- Preparing materials and analysis for Finance Committees, Board meetings and Audit Committee meetings.
- Supporting compliance with the Group's Delegation of Authority and Communications Policy frameworks.
- Supporting the consolidation of banner financial reporting and shareholder reporting requirements.
- Supporting the monitoring and reporting of bonus performance metrics across the Group.
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to shareholders and senior stakeholders as required.

Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA or international equivalent.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience managing external audit processes and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong financial reporting, planning and analytical capabilities.
- Treasury, cash flow forecasting and governance experience desirable.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, auditors, shareholders and external advisers
