Group Finance Director – Overview

RECfinancial is partnering with a high‑growth, privately‑owned Leicester‑based SME in the appointment of a Group Finance Director.

The role is based at the firm's head office, which is within commutable distance of all areas of Leicester/Leicestershire, Nottingham, Derby and Coventry/Warwickshire.

Working closely with the Managing Director, the Group Finance Director will support financial stewardship as they embarks on their next period of growth. The business currently has a turnover of circa £40 million per year with a growth plan to double turnover in the next four years through organic expansion and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include overseeing the finance function – a team of seven – and developing the function and information it provides to the wider business.

The role involves supporting the business in key decision‑making from a commercial perspective, combining routine and technical accounting with commercial impact and business partnering.

It focuses on reorganising the finance team, improving processes, driving data from management accounts, and providing KPI reporting to enable data‑driven decision making.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification and usually have experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Director.

CVs should be structured, demonstrate added value, and show lengths of service in excess of three years, reflecting the client’s interest in a long‑term fit.

Salary range: £95,000 to £120,000 plus benefits.
