A local government council in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Group Auditor to lead their Internal Audit team. This role involves managing high-profile audits and investigations to support governance, risk management, and internal control. The ideal candidate will have a recognised professional qualification and extensive audit experience, along with strong leadership and decision-making skills. This position offers a salary between £54,495 and £64,811, working 36.5 hours per week, with professional development opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced and authoritative audit professional to lead one of the Council's Internal Audit teams. As Group Auditor, you will play a key role in providing independent assurance across the Council and its associated organisations, supporting strong governance, risk management and internal control. You will lead high-profile audits and investigations, manage and develop audit staff, and contribute to the strategic leadership of the Internal Audit function as a member of the Audit Management Team.
You will be a confident leader with strong professional judgement, extensive audit experience and the ability to influence at senior levels.
