Job summary

Rutherford Briant Recruitment is helping a fast-growing Ipswich business recruit a Group Accountant to join their finance team. This hands-on role focuses on group reporting, statutory accounts, and audit coordination within a dynamic environment.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and finance improvements, with exposure to a broad range of accounting projects and system changes.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ACA qualified with at least two years post-qualified experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly group management accounts, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and act as a key contact during the annual audit process.
• Prepare and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, maintaining strong financial controls and governance.
• Lead and support finance improvement projects, including systems implementations and process enhancements.
