Job summary

ALF Recruit Limited is recruiting a Group Accountant for a growing, multi-entity service sector business based in Manchester. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director on consolidated reporting and balance sheet integrity.

The role suits an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with audit or practice grounding, offering hybrid working (one day in the office), exposure to group month-end, intercompany activity and board reporting, plus a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (newly or recently qualified welcomed)

• Advanced Excel and eye for detail
• Confidence to challenge numbers when needed

Responsibilities

• Support group month end across multiple trading entities including consolidation
• Manage intercompany reconciliations, recharges and eliminations
• Prepare statutory accounts and support the year-end audit
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and keep numbers clean
• Provide technical accounting input on new or complex areas
• Support management and board reporting
• Take on ad hoc projects within the finance team

ALF Recruit have been engaged to recruit a Group Accountant for a growing, multi-entity service sector business based in Manchester.

This is a role for a technically strong accountant who’s ready to make their first move, whether that’s out of practice or from a first role in industry. The group spans multiple entities, so the reporting has real substance to it. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director rather than sitting at the end of a long chain.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting group month end across multiple trading entities, including consolidation
• Managing intercompany reconciliations, recharges and eliminations
• Preparing statutory accounts and supporting the year-end audit
• Owning balance sheet reconciliations and keeping the numbers clean
• Providing technical accounting input on new or complex areas
• Supporting management and board reporting
• Picking up ad hoc projects as they arise and supporting the wider finance team

What we’re looking for

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (newly or recently qualified is welcome)
• A strong technical grounding, ideally from an audit or practice background
• Exposure to consolidations and statutory reporting
• Advanced Excel and a good eye for detail
• The confidence to ask questions and challenge when the numbers don’t add up
