Job summary

Edge Careers is seeking a Site Engineer for a 12-month groundworks project in Pontefract. The role involves setting out bolts, bases, drainage, utilities, slab and foundations, and managing QA records.

The candidate will require strong interpretation of drawings, experience with AutoCAD and Total Station, and the ability to coordinate subcontractors on a £65 million life sciences facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundworks and setting out on live sites.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Must provide two recent references on request.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and quality checks for groundworks including drainage, earthworks, and foundations.
• Check setting out information and establish primary/secondary dimensional control.
• Maintain site diary and ensure QA records are produced.
• Coordinate subcontractors and manage construction of structural elements.
• Prepare and check construction drawings and as-built records.
• Assist with scope of works, surveys, and preparation of reports.

Job description

Site Engineer required for 12 months on groundworks project in Pontefract. Site Engineer will be required to set out for bolts, bases, drainage, utilities, slab, foundations, S278, sewers and externals. The project is a £65 Million new build Life Sciences facility. Site Engineer will preferably supply own kit and will have laptop and CAD package.

Site Engineer role:

• Setting out and quality checks for structural steelwork, drainage works, underpinning, earthworks and excavations, groundworks
• Check setting out information
• Establish primary and secondary dimensional control
• Check and record control points
• Complete Permit to Load/Strike
• Requisition materials for in situ concrete works and obtain approvals
• Supervise concrete deliveries inc pre and post-pour Inspections
• Maintain site diary inc maintaining good housekeeping on site
• Manage and co-ordinate construction of all structural elements
• Set out and maintain structural accuracy and main and internal gridlines inc levels
• Implement the Project Management Plan, engineering procedures and practices
• Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced
• Understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Compilation of as-built drawings and create construction drawings for information
• Experience with AutoCad and Total Station
• Compilation of QA sheets for sub and super structural elements
• Advise on buildability issues as required
• Assist to prepare scope of works and reports as required
• Carry out site surveys, levelling and setting out
• Working out cut and fill quantities.
• Managing subcontractors, Cut and Fill /Groundworker/RC /Steel

Site Engineer MUST be able to provide two recent references
