  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
  • Conduct take-offs and prepare accurate tender submissions.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial queries.
  • Ensure all documentation and records are maintained in line with company standards.

A well-established Residential Groundworks contractor, delivering high-quality groundwork packages to major housebuilders across the East Midlands region. Known for their commitment to safety, quality, and efficient project delivery, they have built long-standing partnerships within the housing sector.

They are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of multiple residential developments, following a period of success and growth.

The Role

An opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor with experience in Residential Groundworks to join a reputable and growing contractor. The successful candidate will oversee all commercial and financial aspects of groundworks projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficiency from tender to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
  • Conduct take-offs and prepare accurate tender submissions.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial queries.

  • Support commercial reporting and contribute to monthly financial reviews.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or residential civil engineering sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
