About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Bereavement Services ground staff team at Coney Hill Cemetery and Crematorium. Report to the Bereavement Services grounds foreman within a small friendly team delivering Cremation and Burial services to bereaved families and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grounds to a high standard through sweeping, hoeing, mowing, hedge trimming, edging, cultivation, manuring and site preparation of beds and shrubberies.
  • Clean leaves and litter and perform other duties relating to the Crematorium gardens.
  • Prepare graves for burials, ensuring excavated soil is covered, placing out boards, matting and put logs, excavating graves manually and mechanically while observing health and safety practices.
  • Deal with the bereaved on a daily basis, providing empathy, good communication and customer care skills in stressful circumstances.
Additional Information

Right to work for at least 6 months is required. There is no sponsorship available. Candidates must demonstrate fluent spoken English for customer-facing roles.
