Job summary

A leading social housing provider in Bracknell is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative for a full-time role, responsible for maintaining communal areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in grounds maintenance and the ability to use mechanical and hand tools. Excellent communication skills and a clean driving license are desirable. This role offers a dynamic working environment with a 40-hour week commitment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar Grounds Maintenance role or trade background.
  • Ability to use mechanical and hand tools.
  • Understanding customer needs and quick thinking when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Grounds Maintenance service to communal areas.
  • Maintain external areas, including grass, shrubs, and hedges.
  • Record site visits and tasks using a PDA Reporting system.
  • Assist other trades and ensure high-quality service.

Job description
JOB TITLE : Grounds Maintenance Operative
LOCATION : Bracknell
SALARY : £12.60 / hr
DURATION : 12 weeks initially to go to Perm
The Employer

We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment, Our client is one of the largest Social |Housing providers in the South of England, they are ambitious and have a huge 5 year plan which we are seeking a GMO to assist with, their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones creating vibrant, thriving communities.

The Role
  • Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges AND soft landscaping / minor tree work
  • Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out
  • To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works
  • Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
  • Assisting all other trades as and when required ensuring that residents / customers receive a high-quality service
The Candidate needs
  • Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with experience of Grounds Maintenance.
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations
  • An understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly when needed
  • To behave in a courteous and professional manner
  • Great communication skills
  • A clean Driving Licence (with towing ability DESIRABLE)
  • Practical amenity horticultural knowledge & experience
  • PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
  • NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
SUMMARY

This is a Full time role, working a 40 hour week over 5 days.

The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
