Job summary

Platform Property Care in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. The role covers maintenance of landscaped and communal green areas, including grass cutting, hedge work, pruning, planting and litter collection across estates in and around Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will have grounds maintenance experience, a full UK driving licence and a strong health and safety awareness, with the ability to work outdoors year-round and in varying weather

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining landscaped and communal green spaces.
• Knowledge of standard grounds maintenance methods and safety practices.
• Ability to operate basic plant and machinery in a residential environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaped and communal green areas to a high standard.
• Perform tractor and pedestrian grass maintenance, edging, hedge cutting, pruning, planting, weeding and litter picking.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and ensure safe, professional presentation of estates.

Calling all Grounds Maintenance Operatives in Birmingham!

Platform Property Care has a permanent position for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Grounds Maintenance Team based in Birmingham providing high quality grounds maintenance and associated estates services there and the surrounding area.

What could you be doing?

You will be responsible for maintaining landscaped and communal green areas to a high standard in and around our estates. Your duties willinclude tractor and pedestrian grass maintenance, brush cutting/strimming, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, planting, weeding and weed control, and litter picking.

We want somebody who can:

Some things we need from you:

• You'll be motivated and passionate about making a difference to our external landscape- you will love working outdoors and creating great looking environments for our customers
• You'll have a full UK driving licence - this is essential as it is a mobile role
• You will need to live within a reasonable commutable distance of our Birmingham Depot
• You will really enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions(suitable uniform provided)
• You'll have a good Health & Safety knowledge
• And have relevant and demonstrable grounds maintenance experience, including the use of appropriate plant and machinery, ideally for a local authority or housing association
• Plus if you also have gardening/horticultural skills, or qualifications including PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates this would be an advantage.

The working pattern for this role is a permanent annualised contract:

Summer (March - November) 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday

Winter (December - February) 32.5 hours a week Monday to Thursday
