Overview

About the Role: One of my local government clients is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help maintain the grounds and external communal areas across its housing estates. This is a hands-on role that requires physical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high service standards. You'll be part of a team delivering essential maintenance to support the wellbeing and satisfaction of residents across the borough. This role is a key part of the housing services team and involves both individual and collaborative work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks such as grass cutting, pruning, weeding, and planting.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of communal outdoor spaces.
  • Using machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Providing a courteous and responsive service to residents and members of the public.
  • Working within health and safety guidelines, including manual handling and equipment safety.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or horticultural work is essential.
