Purpose of the role

Are you ready to make a real impact at London Zoo? As our Grounds & Logistics Site Presentation Operative, you'll play a vital role in keeping the zoo looking its best and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all our visitors. Working mainly during school holidays, public holidays and special events like Zoo Nights across a fixed term contract, you'll tackle a range of hands‑on tasks, everything from site cleaning and waste management to supporting exciting zoo events. If you're physically fit, enjoy working outdoors, and are devoted to delivering top‑notch customer care, this dynamic role could be perfect for you!

Key responsibilities
  • Outer perimeter litter picking and carpark checks that involve litter removal and public bin changing.
  • Weeding of areas using tools and upkeeping monuments across site.
  • Litter picking across the London Zoo site front of house areas.
  • Public on site bin changing and ensuring bins are accessible and presentable for visitors.
About You
  • Experience in ground maintenance that involves site cleanliness and hygiene procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills working as part of a large and diverse team.
  • Confidence in following health and safety procedures.
  • Able to handle physically demanding tasks feet through shift in all weather conditions.
