Job summary

Ashford School is seeking a Grounds & Gardens Supervisor to manage the upkeep of our grounds and sports facilities at the Prep and Senior Schools. This full-time role includes supervising a small team and ensuring compliance with risk assessments, COSHH and health and safety requirements.

You will operate and maintain grounds machinery such as tractors, trailers, mowers and hedgecutters, and contribute to the safety and presentation of our outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing grounds maintenance including sports turf.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, COSHH and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to supervise a small team and work to school policies.

Grounds & Gardens Supervisor

Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced grounds person to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our beautiful grounds and gardens at our Prep and Senior Schools. This will also include the sports fields on both sites which include football and rugby pitches, cricket wickets, athletics tracks, astroturf, and hard surface courts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of grounds maintenance, including sports turf, have an eye for detail and supervise a small team. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with school policy and practice for risk assessments, COSHH and statutory legal requirements.

As well as your grounds maintenance skills, you should be able to operate and maintain grounds machinery in line with the necessary Health & Safety requirements, including tractors and trailers, pedestrian and ride on mowers, brushcutters, hedgecutters etc.
