Overview

Location: RAF Central Fund Danesfield, Henley Road, Medmenham, SL7 2EY

Hours: approximately 4-6 hours per fortnight (weekdays, evenings or weekends)

About the RAF Central Fund

We support the RAF through our grants, programmes, partnerships and properties to ensure personnel can access sports and physical activities at all levels to support with their physical and mental wellbeing. We deliver integral support to the RAF; ultimately, we think everyone regardless of their role, rank, physical ability or competing level should have access to sports facilities, equipment and training.

Purpose of the role

The Grounds and Building Maintenance contractor will carry out services to help the charity ensure that the security, safety and general appearance of the buildings and outside areas of RAF Central Fund Danesfield are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

Services/deliverables

• General maintenance of the grounds and other areas including basic estate work such as grass cutting and weeding;
• Help to maintain the premises, including its security, ensuring clear and safe access to the facilities;
• Undertake emergency and first line maintenance repairs at the sites within capability and training;
• To ensure the utilities and other plant and equipment is efficiently and safely maintained and operated;
• To ensure that gullies, drains, etc. are kept free from debris and that the grounds and buildings are litter and hazard free;
• To support with health and safety and other site contractors as required;
• To monitor stock levels of consumable items;
• Undertake other services in support of the Fund’s objectives as is reasonable.

Qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills required

• Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal time management;
• Common sense and be able to act on own initiative;
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques and general building maintenance skills;
• Able to work at height with correct use of ladders;
• Driver, local to Medmenham/Marlow.
