Holt Recruitment Ltd in Guildford is seeking a Garden Machinery Mechanic to work across mobile and workshop settings, servicing a wide range of garden, turf, and golf course equipment. You'll handle ride‑on mowers, turf machinery, compact tractors, and small engines, ensuring high standards of service.

The role splits time between workshop and customer sites, with a company van provided and overtime paid at 1.5x.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience on garden/turf/golf machinery or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Land-based engineering qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Garden Machinery Mechanic (Mobile / Workshop) – Guildford

Location: Guildford

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000+ Basic DOE + Overtime (£40,000 - £45,000 OTE)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Overtime Paid at: 1.5x

The Role

This role offers a mixture of mobile and workshop-based work, servicing and repairing a wide range of garden, turf, and golf course machinery.

• Ride‑on and pedestrian mowers
• Golf course maintenance equipment
• Turf machinery
• Compact tractors
• Hedge trimmers and strimmers
• Utility vehicles
• Small petrol and diesel‑powered equipment

Split time between workshop and customer sites, providing high levels of service and technical support.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence
• Experience working on garden machinery, turf equipment, golf machinery, agricultural equipment, plant machinery, or small engines
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding skills
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Land‑based engineering or relevant mechanical qualification (advantageous but not essential)
