Job summary

Manchester Airport is seeking a Ground Support Engineer / HGV Technician to join their team, offering work on a wide range of ground service and support equipment. You will conduct planned maintenance, servicing and repairs, delivering reliable performance in a busy aviation setting.

The ideal candidate has time-served automotive qualifications and up to one year post-apprenticeship experience, with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified with City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent automotive qualifications with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems.
• Minimum of one year post-apprenticeship experience as an automotive technician or engineer.
• Ex Military candidates from REME or Royal Engineers are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on ground support equipment.
• Work on a variety of automotive and ground service equipment in a dynamic airport environment.

Outstanding opportunity to appoint a Ground Support Engineer / HGV Technician at Manchester Airport (MAN)

This vastly stable, Global organisation seek a skilled Technician to join their friendly and dedicated team working on a variety of Automotive and Ground Service / Support Equipment.

You will conduct planned, preventative maintenance, as well as service and any repairs on a plethora of equipment, giving you real variety and in an incredibly exciting environment.

Candidates sought will ideally be time served Automotive Technicians / Mechanics / Plant Engineers with a minimum of one year post apprenticeship experience.

You will be qualified with City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent automotive qualifications with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and or electrical systems.

Offering all PPE and uniforms etc your overalls will be supplied and laundered for you, but you must have your own tools.

Ex Military candidates are highly desirable and those applying will be from either the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) or Royal Engineers or similar.

Candidates highly sought after are those with experience as either an Automotive Mechanic, Automotive Engineer, Light or Commercial Automotive Engineer, PSV Technician / HGV Engineer / HGV Mechanic / PSV Engineer / PSV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic, construction plant Engineer / Mechanic or other level experience who will enjoy turning their craft to other similar, unusual and related plant and ground support equipment.

Full training on the service and maintenance of ground support equipment is available with an immediate start working initially a Monday to Friday day shift. Candidates who can also work a 4 on 4 off days shift also of interest.
