RSK Group is seeking Ground Investigation Engineers to join our expanding team across the UK. With 3+ years’ experience, you will deliver diverse ground investigation projects, log samples, and manage site activities to high technical standards.

The role offers full-time, permanent work with industry training and opportunities to advance within a leading ground engineering specialist. Overnight site stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous UK ground investigation site experience
• BSc degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Geoscience or related discipline
• Ability to log samples to BS5930+A2 standards
• Good understanding of the principal soil and rock strata encountered across the UK
• Ability to interpret geological maps and published geological datasets
• Basic knowledge of groundwater, soil gas and environmental monitoring techniques
• Strong technical report writing skills with excellent attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence
• Unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom

Responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver intrusive ground investigations using a variety of techniques (sonic drilling, rotary drilling, cable percussion, window sampling boreholes, geophysics, trial pits)
• Log soil and rock samples to BS5930+A2 standards
• Manage ground investigation projects from planning through to completion
• Prepare quotations and pricing works
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and clients
• Produce health and safety documentation and site paperwork
• Ensure the highest standards of site safety and compliance
• Process, manage and report factual site data
• Complete Desk-Based Studies
• Support senior colleagues with project delivery and technical tasks
• Manage departmental equipment (hire, allocation, servicing, repairs)
• Maintain ground investigation engineering equipment
• Attend and complete internal and externally accredited training courses (PTS, NRSWA, CCNSG, Towing licence training, CAT & Genny, First Aid, Manual Handling)
• Follow all SHEQ policies and procedures
