Job summary

Whitbread's Premier Inn in Carlisle is recruiting for a Ground Floor Team Member on a permanent contract, 20 hours per week, paying up to £13.06 per hour. You’ll welcome guests, check them in and help with breakfast and dinner service. Shifts include evenings, weekends and busy periods.

No hotel experience is required; the ideal candidate is friendly, calm under pressure and enjoys helping people. Location: Parkhouse Road, Carlisle, CA3 0JR.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to varying duties and busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with check-in.
• Serve breakfast and dinner, including bar service where needed.
• Answer questions and resolve guest issues.
• Keep reception, restaurant and public areas tidy and welcoming.
• Support teammates across the hotel during busy times.
• Ensure guests feel cared for from arrival to departure.

We're currently recruiting in our Carlisle (M6 Jct 44) Premier Inn. Working 20 hours per week, paying up to £13.06 per hour.

Ground Floor Team Member – Carlisle (M6 Jct 44) Premier Inn

You are the first person many of our guests meet. And often the last before they leave.

As a Ground Floor Team Member, you’ll welcome guests, help them check in, answer questions, serve breakfast or dinner and do whatever it takes to help their stay go smoothly.

No two shifts are quite the same. One moment you could be helping a family check in before their holiday. The next you might be serving breakfast, recommending somewhere local to eat or helping solve a problem for a guest.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract: Permanent - we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 20 guaranteed hours per week.

Location: Parkhouse Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 0JR

Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What You’ll Do

Depending On Where You’re Needed, You Might

• Welcome guests and help them check in
• Serve breakfast or evening meals, including working behind the bar and serving alcoholic drinks
• Answer questions and help solve problems
• Help keep the reception, restaurant and public areas looking their best
• Support your teammates across the hotel when things get busy
• Make sure every guest feels looked after from arrival to departure

This isn’t a role where you'll spend your shift in one place. You’ll be helping guests, supporting teammates and keeping the hotel running smoothly.

You Don’t Need Hotel Experience

Some of our best Ground Floor Team Members have joined us from retail, cafés, pubs, restaurants, leisure, travel and customer service.

If you’re friendly, enjoy helping people and can stay calm when it’s busy, we’ll teach you the rest.
