Job description

This Property Maintenance Apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in general maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment. You will learn a range of practical skills, work alongside experienced tradespeople, and develop your knowledge of tools, materials, and health and safety while working towards a recognised qualification.

Annual wage: £16,640 a year

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

As a Property Maintenance Apprentice, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop practical skills, and learn from experienced professionals while working towards a rewarding career in the property maintenance industry.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance - helping keep buildings and properties safe, functional, and well maintained
• Inspecting fixtures, fittings, and equipment - learning how to identify issues and carry out routine maintenance
• Working as part of a team - communicating with colleagues, tenants, and clients to help ensure work is completed to a high standard
• Developing practical skills - learning to follow work instructions, read basic drawings, and understand job specifications
• Using tools and materials safely - preparing equipment, keeping work areas tidy, and following health and safety procedures

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
