Job description

Job Overview:

Do you want to help shape the future of graphics on billions of Arm-powered devices worldwide? We are building leading solutions in mobile rendering: combining the best of classic rendering techniques with the exciting new possibilities of neural graphics!

As part of our team, you will investigate technologies that help shape the future of Arm GPUs while also contributing to optimization guidance for developers working with current-generation platforms and tools. Our mission is to help developers deliver the best possible graphics and gaming experiences on Arm-powered devices.

We are looking for a curious and motivated software engineer who is excited to learn about computer and neural graphics with the aim to help developers around the world deliver great products on Arm.

Responsibilities:

You will learn about and investigate modern and emerging graphics techniques, including neural graphics, and other future-looking approaches.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will be conducting technical investigations and performance analyses, create prototypes and resolve customer issues.

You will use profiling, debugging, experimentation, and modern development tools to analyse real-world workloads and solve problems effectively. You will collaborate with colleagues and industry partners. You may also help create technical demonstrations, documentation, and developer education materials.

As your experience grows, you will develop a deeper understanding of GPU architecture, rendering techniques, graphics APIs, game engines, and system-level performance.

Required Skills and Experience :
  • Strong foundational programming skills in C/C++ or another low-level systems language.
  • Good understanding of real-time graphics and the GPU pipeline, with exposure to a modern graphics API.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning/neural networks and interest in applying them to graphics.
  • Ability to independently prototype, evaluate and communicate technical ideas in an R&D environment, with limited supervision.
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience :
  • Experience with shader languages such as GLSL, HLSL or Slang.
  • Experience with modern GPU APIs such as Vulkan, Direct3D 12, Metal or WebGPU.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Familiarity with Arm Mali or other GPU architectures.
  • Understanding of how graphics software maps onto GPU hardware.
  • Awareness of the wider graphics ecosystem and interest in following state-of-the-art developments.
In Return:

At Arm, we invest in your growth. We provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to develop your skills in graphics, GPU technology, and neural graphics. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and friendly team where asking questions, experimenting with ideas, and learning from others are encouraged.

You will have opportunities to work on emerging graphics technologies, contribute to real-world engineering investigations, and gradually take on greater technical responsibility as your expertise develops.

We also believe work should be more than code: you'll find an inclusive workplace culture with opportunities to connect through social events, learning sessions, and volunteering activities.

If skilled worker sponsorship is required, Arm will meet costs associated with sponsorship for the employer only. All fees associated with the individual’s application e.g. visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge, will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.
