You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of complex design challenges, and help ensure our design standards remain high and consistent. With the support of an expert community and opportunities to explore new creative approaches, you'll play an important role in delivering impactful solutions that enhance user experiences and drive successful outcomes for our clients.

In this role, you will create high‑quality, user‑centred designs that enhance digital services and ensure accessibility, consistency, and meaningful impact. You'll interpret research findings, develop creative design concepts, and support the delivery of clear, intuitive solutions across multiple projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll bring ideas to life through evidence‑based design practices and contribute to agile delivery.

YOU'LL have opportunities to take ownership of complex design challenges, shape design standards, and apply your creativity to identify risks and unlock opportunities. Supported by a collaborative design community, you'll help drive innovative, user‑focused outcomes across CGI's portfolio.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop design solutions informed by user needs and organisational goals
  • Create and iterate design concepts using evidence, research insights and stakeholder input
  • Lead design work for complex services and clearly communicate decisions
  • Ensure all outputs meet accessibility and inclusion standards
  • Identify risks, opportunities and improvements through strategic design thinking
  • Facilitate workshops, design sessions and collaborative activities
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, researchers and digital leaders
  • Use analytics, research, and testing to validate and improve design choices
  • Apply iterative and agile design practices, using appropriate tools and prototypes
  • Contribute to design patterns, components and community‑wide best practices
  • Support and mentor colleagues while engaging with the wider design community

To succeed in this role, you'll need strong experience in delivering user‑centred design solutions, the ability to interpret research and evidence, and confidence working collaboratively in agile environments. You should bring creative thinking, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of accessibility and design systems.

Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering user‑centred digital design solutions
  • Ability to translate research evidence into clear, effective design decisions
  • Strong understanding of design systems, components and accessibility standards
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary, agile teams
  • Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Illustrator or similar
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting and explaining design decisions
  • Awareness of sustainable design principles
  • A collaborative, open mindset with a desire to learn and support others
