You'll be a creative professional with experience gained in-house, within an agency or as a freelancer, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design capability across both digital and print platforms.

From designing digital campaigns and social assets to producing video, motion graphics and print publications, you'll play a key role in delivering creative work that drives engagement and supports ambitious marketing goals.

As Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality creative assets that elevate our brand and enhance the user experience across multiple touchpoints. Working closely with marketing colleagues, creative partners and external agencies, you will transform ideas into compelling visual content that supports recruitment, reputation and engagement objectives.

This role offers significant variety, allowing you to work across digital, video, social media, web, events and print, while contributing new ideas, creative innovation and emerging digital marketing approaches.
You will bring:

  • Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • Experience creating multimedia content including graphics, video, animation and digital content
  • An understanding of digital marketing channels and how creative assets drive engagement and performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative approach and passion for producing work that delivers real impact
  • Curiosity, creativity and a desire to continuously develop your skills and explore new technologies

This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract until 7th February 2027.

Key Accountabilities
  • Create and deliver compelling, brand-aligned content and creative assets across digital and offline channels, including websites, social media, email marketing, video, presentations, advertising and print, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external creative partners to drive engagement
  • Leverage motion design, video editing and emerging creative technologies to produce impactful animated content for multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring all outputs are visually compelling, on-brand and optimised for digital performance
  • Scope and create templates for our Marketing Team and wider university-network of colleagues to support their posting on social media, blog, email, and other channels
  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and our retainer agency to develop and refine creative assets, providing clear direction and feedback to achieve high-quality design outcomes that align with brand guidelines and commercial objectives
  • Provide expert knowledge and intelligence to ensure that the University is maximising digital and print marketing opportunities, including identifying and analysing emerging trends to deliver innovative and impactful multimedia marketing campaigns
  • Work closely with other colleagues to ensure co-ordination of efforts in the promotion of the university
  • Other duties as required to support online, digital and print requirements as required by the Head of Content, Media Services Team Leader and Marketing and Production Manager
The Person
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience as either an in-house designer, freelancer or at a marketing agency. (We require work samples to apply for this position)
  • Experience of designing for (and using) a content management system, creating assets for our web team that are mobile and desktop-friendly and provide a user experience that fits on all three screens
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/AfterEffects/PremierePro) or similar technologies
  • Demonstrable ability in, and experience of, creating and editing original and creative content in a range of multimedia formats (video, text, audio, graphics, photographs) for sharing online
  • Experience of using digital analytics tools to monitor, measure and evaluate digital and social media and for ongoing reporting on performance
  • Demonstrable ability in, and experience of graphic design for print including brochure design and exhibition stands
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills
